The Verdict Is In

And it is not pretty. Readers are hooked, haunted, and hungry for more.
This book caught me off guard. I picked it up thinking it was just another action comic, but the psychological depth surprised me. Tameka’s transformation into Robyn felt real, not forced. The way CJones handles her breakdown and rebirth kept me turning pages way past my bedtime. Solid storytelling.

The artwork alone is worth the price. You can tell CJones grew up around graffiti because the colors and lines have that raw, street energy. Every panel feels alive. The action sequences are crisp and easy to follow. I found myself going back just to stare at certain pages. Visual storytelling done right.

I’m not usually into revenge stories, but this one hooked me. The main character is complex. She is not some perfect hero. She is broken, angry, and making terrible choices. But somehow, you understand why. That is what good writing does. It makes you sympathize with someone you probably should not root for.

The pacing is relentless. CJones does not waste time with filler. Every scene moves the story forward. The dialogue feels natural, not forced or overly dramatic. I appreciated that the violence serves the story rather than just being there for shock value. It is gritty without being cheap. Highly recommend for thriller fans.

What stood out to me was the technology aspect. The warsuit and nanomite fabric are explained in a way that feels believable, not like sci-fi nonsense. It adds a layer of realism to an otherwise wild premise. CJones clearly did his homework on military tactics too. That attention to detail makes the action hit harder.

This is not your typical comic book. The subject matter is heavy. Adultery. Betrayal. Mental breakdown. But CJones handles it with care. Robyn is terrifying, but you also feel for her. That is a tough balance to strike. The illustrations match the dark tone perfectly. I am already waiting for the next issue.

I read a lot of independent comics, and this one stands out. The voice is unique. The art style is unmistakable. You can see the Brooklyn influence in every line. CJones is doing something different here. It is raw. It is honest. It does not try to be something it is not. That authenticity is rare. Check it out.
